Here are the "Do Somethings" for Jr/Sr High School this year per grade:
6th Grade - Serving Our Kids - http://servingourkids.org/
The class is doing an on-going food drive to benefit the homeless students in the Las Vegas/Henderson community.
7th Grade - Safe Nest - http://www.safenest.org/
There is a bin in the 706 parking lot. The class is collecting gently used clothing items. Safe Nest is a comprehensive charity devoted solely to domestic violence issues.
8th Grade - Salvation Army - http://www.salvationarmysouthernnevada.org/
Canned food drive for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
High School - Harmon Elementary
They are partnering with GV Women Outreach to collect items (school supplies, uniforms, hygiene products, food and gift cards). Harmon is a Title 1 School with 86% of the families considered low-income with a number of those considered homeless.
Our "Do Somethings" for Thursday, November 6th are:Project150 - http://www.project150.org
We will be sorting clothes, food, computers and other items in their warehouse. Project 150 is an organization that helps homeless teenagers in the Vegas Valley.
Clark County's Graffiti Abatement Program - http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/Depts/admin_services/pro/Services/pages/Graffiti.aspx
We will be painting over graffiti at a designated place selected by Clark County.
St Jude's Ranch - https://stjudesranch.org
We will be cleaning the grounds of the ranch.
Boys and Girls Club - http://www.bgclv.org
We will be cleaning and organizing the Lied Memorial Clubhouse.
Salvation Army - http://www.salvationarmysouthernnevada.org
We will be sorting and repackaging food, and cleaning up the warehouse.
