Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading literacy.

Certification: California Teaching Credential, pending ACSI credential

Experience: Working with children is my favorite thing in the whole world. I have taught 1^st-5^th grade Kid’s Church for 15 years and still love every minute of it. While attending Bethany University, I completed an 18 week student teaching course. Nine of those weeks were in a 3^rdgrade classroom and the other nine were completed in a 1^st grade classroom. I was given the privilege of working side by side an amazing 1^st grade Master Teacher those nine weeks who gave me incredible tools for my own classroom. It was at that time I fell in love with the age of first graders and what they are capable of learning. The Spring of 2002 I graduated from Bethany University’s accelerated Degree program with a BA in Elementary Education with Reading Literacy Minor, my credential and half of my Master’s Degree. I started my journey at GVCS the fall of 2002 and have been here ever since. It has been a wonderful 8 years and I look forward to many more. 

Years at GVCS: August 2002- present

I am so excited to serve as a teacher here at GVCS and I look forward to getting to know every child. The students in this classroom will grow both spiritually and academically.  My classroom is set up as a learning community where students will be challenged to work cooperatively as a group as well as individually in order to succeed.

          This is my eighth year teaching here at Green Valley Christian School. I have lived in Las Vegas for 22 years and have attended Green Valley Christian Centerfor 21 years. I graduated from Bethany University in 2002 with a BA in Elementary Education with a reading literacy emphasis and a California State Teaching Credential. My husband Cesar and I have been married for 7 years and we have two beautiful daughters. Gina is 4 and Kira is 2. My husband Cesar also works for the church as the Systems Administrator. Children mean the world to me and I have a passion to teach. It has been a childhood goal of mine to become a teacher and I love every minute of it.

          Starlee Sinderson is my wonderful assistant. I feel totally blessed to be able to work with her again this year. She is a phenomenal person and loves working with children. She is married and has two daughters, Sierra and Savannah. Her educational background is in medicine, but once her girls started school, she wanted to have the same schedule as they had. My heart is bursting with joy to be able to call her my assistant again and I know you will truly enjoy her.
