My name is Patty Smith and I feel very blessed to teach at Green Valley Christian School. I have two grown children and five of those magical people called grandchildren! The oldest is a going to be a junior and the youngest is 5 years old.
I am from Oklahoma where I was raised with five brothers and one sister. Go Sooners! I taught in public schools in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Texas. After retiring from teaching in Texas, I moved to Las Vegas and have been teaching in private schools here in the Valley for the last nine years. During these nine years, I have been the Coordinator for the Spelling Bee, Speech Meet and Geography Bee.
I’ve been a member of Green Valley Baptist Church for nine years and presently lead a Women’s Bible Study. At one time I was the Director of AWANA and also sang in the choir.
My goal for each child in my classroom is to help them learn to “think” for themselves by spending time finding answers on how to live every day. We pray and learn about God by studying major characters in the Bible. Our class motto is ‘STARS’; Standing Tall As Representatives of Jesus’ Spirit.” I love to work with children and look forward to the start of each new school year.
